Cookie Policy
Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
Effective date: July 4, 2026
This policy explains how the Selix website (the "Site") uses cookies and similar technologies. It applies to the Site only. The Selix desktop application does not use cookies; its data collection is covered in the Privacy Policy.
## What these technologies are
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We also use similar local storage, such as localStorage and session storage, to keep you logged in and to remember settings. We refer to all of these as "cookies" here for short.
## What we use, and why
We group cookies into three types.
### Strictly necessary (always on)
These make the Site work. You can't turn them off, and they don't need consent.
- Authentication and session. Keep you logged in as you move between pages and manage your account, sessions, and subscription.
- Security. Protect against fraud and abuse and keep your account safe.
- Consent record. Remember your cookie choices so we don't ask every visit.
### Analytics and product (PostHog) — needs your consent
These run only after you agree.
- PostHog measures how the Site is used: which pages and features people use, approximate region, and heatmaps of how visitors move through a page. Heatmaps are masked, so the content you type or view is hidden. PostHog records IP addresses as part of this, and stores the data in the EU region.
- We use this to understand what works and to improve the Site.
### A/B testing — needs your consent
- We sometimes show different versions of a page to different visitors to see which performs better. This relies on a cookie to keep your experience consistent and to measure results. It also runs through PostHog.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We don't sell your data.
## Your choices
When you first visit the Site, you choose which optional cookies to allow. You can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link on the Site. Turning off analytics and A/B testing cookies won't break the Site; strictly necessary cookies stay on because the Site needs them.
You can also control cookies in your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Site (like logging in) may stop working.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no common standard for how sites should respond, so we rely on the cookie choices you make here instead.
## Third parties
The only third party setting cookies through the Site is PostHog, our analytics provider, and only if you consent. PostHog acts as our processor and stores the data in the EU region. See our Privacy Policy for who we share data with and where it goes.
## Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a fresh "Last updated" date. If a change affects what we collect with consent, we'll ask for your choice again.
